I was born in Italy and spent my 2nd year in jail in a Florentine nunnery.  I was raised on the road in the back of a van, traveling to blues festivals in Europe and the USA. I grew up surrounded by world class musicians, many of whom are no longer here, and that life and their music still haunts & inspires me.  I learned to play Mississippi hill country blues from my father, who was taught by Muddy Waters and John Lee Hooker, and my playing style is partly influenced by that heritage. I also like to create my own chords in open tunings, and many of my songs are about the unseen - myths, dreams, fairytales.  I'm fascinated by sacred music that derives from roots music and traditional cultures, and I make my home in New Orleans, a poem of a city & one of the great refuges for artists in this country. I’m a longtime admirer of dirty 70's rock n roll and old recordings from the 1920's, so a retro-garage sound is always my default.  Now, I travel around the world, looking for perfect places and collecting experiences.
